The Silverado is among the most recognizable vehicles of the company's larger move into electric vehicles which GM explained in more details on Wednesday during an investor conference which also featured the updated version of the hands-free assistance for drivers.

The Silverado EV is built using exactly the same Ultium batteries and the electric drivetrain GM uses to drive the Hummer as well as the Cadillac Lyriq, and multiple other vehicles.
The company claims to allow the electric Silverado be able to travel for more 400 miles with fully charged. It will be available in both fleet and consumer models, much like Ford's Ford F-150 Lightning.

GM announced on Wednesday that all-wheel steering would be an option on the Silverado EV, as well as a "fixed-glass roof" which was showed in a photograph.
Although isn't as large like the glass roofs on Tesla's vehicles, as Ford's Mustang Mach-E, it's much more expensive than a standard moonroof. It's also likely not to cause GM the adhesion issues other companies have had to deal with.
